Abstract

1356455 Aliphatic C 6-18 diamines VEBACHEMIE AG 18 Aug 1971 [28 Aug 1970] 38769/71 Heading C2C Aliphatic, unbranched C 6-18 diamines are prepared by reducing the corresponding dinitriles with hydrogen at elevated temperature and pressure in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst, ammonia and monoamines or compounds which form monoamines under the reaction conditions, said monoamines or said precursors thereof being added to the dinitriles prior to the reaction. In the examples, the C 12 diamine is obtained from decane dicarboxylic acid dinitrile using a mixture of 3,3,5- and 3,5,5-trimethyl-1-azacycloheptane as monoamine and hexamethylene diamine is obtained from adipic acid dinitrile using cyclohexyl amine as monoamine.
