Abstract

1355501 Masks SVENSKA CELLULOSA AB 8 July 1971 [8 Sept 1970] 32115/71 Heading A5T A respirator comprises an inflatable tubular frame 11 consisting of a flexible material, a wall (1) supported by said frame with a perforated region, and a filter (6) so that inhaled air is drawn through the region and filter. The walls 1, 3 of the respirator are formed from plastics foil and welded together along a seam 5, enclosing the fiber which consists of a fibrous material. Wall 3 is provided with an opening in which a valve 10, closed by a plug 9, is attached by welding. A constriction 12 is provided in the frame for receiving the ridge of the nose of the wearer and the outer weld-seam 4 of the frame incorporates two protruding flaps 13 provided with holes through which an elastic band 14 is attached, intended to be extended around the neck of the wearer. Further embodiments are described which include the triangular respirator of Fig. 3 (not shown), and the rectangular respirator of Fig. 5 (not shown) which has flaps 13 on all four sides and hence may be positioned over the nose (Fig. 5), or over the nose and mouth (Fig. 6, not shown). In the embodiment of Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown) the inflatable frame is a tube located in the turned-back edge of the wall.
