Abstract

1355437 Acid dye compositions CIBAGEIGY AG 27 Aug 1971 [28 Aug 1970] 40346/71 Heading D1B Acid dye compositions comprise an acid dye, an emulsifier, a water-soluble organic solvent and polyvinylpyrrolidone. The organic solvent may be ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol, triethylene glycol, formamide, dimethylformamide, acetonitrile and #-oxypropionitrile, emulsifying agents include addition products of ethylene oxide with fatty alcohols, fatty amines and alkylphenols. The compositions are made by dissolving the dye in the organic solvent in presence of the emulsifier and polyvinylpyrrolidone preferably at 60 to 130‹C followed by cooling. The compositions are added to water and used for dyeing polyamide fibres e.g. in the form of carpets by a continuous padding-steaming process.
