Abstract
135,473. Martel, T. J. F. M. de. Nov. 18, 1918, [Convention date]. Clamps; forceps.-A clamp for the intestine or other part consists of two arms 1, 2 detachably pivoted together at 3 and adapted to be held together when closed by a clip consisting of a T-shaped hook 4 pivoted at 5 to the arm 1 and engaging the forked end of the arm 2. The clip is forced into the engaging position by a spring 6. The coacting surfaces of the arms 1, 2 are preferably slightly convex. The clamp is closed by means of forceps, Fig. 3, and the spring clip is released when required to open the clamp by means of a lever, Fig. 4.
