Abstract
1354529 Fluid-pressure servosystems J C ECKARDT AG 11 Aug 1971 [13 Aug 1970] 37731/71 Heading G3P A differential pressure amplifier 1 has slidable balls 13 which establish an output pressure A<SP>+</SP> in line 15 corresponding to an input pressure E in chamber E<SP>+</SP>, negative feedback being provided by pressure divider 11, 12 across which is applied the output pressure and a pressure P G which may be atmospheric pressure or a fixed or adjustable set print control pressure. In a first modification, spring 6 is omitted, and in another modification the amplifier provides a second output pressure A<SP>-</SP> which varies inversely with E and is connected to resistor 12 in place of P G . In further modifications, chamber E<SP>+</SP> is connected to a pressure divider across which is applied E and A<SP>-</SP>, and A<SP>+</SP> may then optionally connect direct with chamber E<SP>-</SP>. In the reverse-acting amplifier of Fig. 5, output A<SP>-</SP> and input E are connected across divider 9, 10 to provide a signal Si opposed solely by spring 6. In some embodiments, diaphragms 2, 3 may differ in diameter from each other.
