Abstract

1353830 Tables; furniture frames; on-andoff castors; feet for furniture A BARDOCZ 10 June 1971 [16 June 1970 28 Oct 1970] 19875/71 Headings A4H and A4U [Also in Divisions B1 and F2] A framework for a laboratory table comprises hollow cubic jointing elements E each having only one open side and an aperture in each of its other closed sides and a plurality of elongate frame members each attached at both its ends to jointing elements. As shown, each elongate frame member comprises a tubular member R and a rod S coaxially received therein. The rod has threaded ends which are passed through the cube apertures and secured by nuts. The rods are centred by discs at the tube ends. Alternatively, the elongate frame member may comprise a tube with female threads at its ends and be secured by screws. Feet (F), Fig. 10, (not shown) may be secured to the cubes E, possibly with the interposition of a tube. The table may include castors RO, and the table and castors can be lifted off the ground by screw-jacks SB, which jacks may also level the table. The framework may include vibration isolation components such as resilient rubber pads. The table top may comprise plywood, plastics, cast iron or granite, and may be assembled from optical rails.
