Abstract

1352849 Metal/silicate paint DEFENCE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR 20 May 1971 [24 April 1970] 19761/70 Heading C4A [Also in Division B2] A paint for spraying on to a steel component comprises 1 p.b.w. of 50% vol./vol. aqueous potassium silicate, 1“ p.b.w. Al powder, and a further ¢ p.b.w. water. One for applying electrophoretically comprises 1 p.b.w. of the same silicate, 2 p.b.w. Al powder, and a further 1¢ p.b.w. water. The coatings are air-dried and then stoved, first at 150-190‹ C. for 2 hrs. then at 560‹ C. for 2 hrs.
