Abstract

1352566 Glucose-6-phosphate KHAYASHIBARA 23 April 1971 [25 April 1970] 11128/71 Heading C2P Glucose-6-phosphate is prepared by gelatinizing an amylaceous substance, saccharifying the resulting gelatinized product with alpha-1,6- glucosidase, and then reacting the saccharified product with phosphorylase, phosphoglucomutase and inorganic phosphate. Preferably the alpha-1,6-glucosidase is produced from Escherichia intermedia ATCC 21073 or Pseudomonas amylodelamosa ATCC 21262. Preferably glucose-6-phosphate is prepared by completely gelatinizing a starch suspension by heating at between 130‹ and 170‹ C., quickly cooling the resulting gelatine, adjusting the pH to between 4À5 and 7À0, incubating the gelatine with alpha- 1,6-glucosidase at between 40‹ and 60‹ C. for 5 to 30 hours, and then subjecting the reaction mixture to the action of phosphorylase, phosphoglucomutase and inorganic phosphate at about pH 8 and 40‹ C. for 2 days.
