Abstract

1352129 Fixed ratio converters PARTRIDGE & LOVE Ltd 2 Sept 1971 [2 Sept 1970] 41998/70 Heading G4B A fixed ratio converter comprises a cylinder 10 bearing two scales, and a sleeve 12, which is rotatable and axially movable relative to the cylinder, the sleeve 12 being formed with windows 26, 28 arranged so that if a figure on one of the scales is visible through one of the windows, the corresponding figure on the other scale will be visible through the other window. Each window is of a size sufficient to reveal only one figure on the associated scale. The cylinder may bear more than two scales, which may be helically arranged. Three pairs of scales, Fig. 3 (not shown), permit conversions between inches and millimetres, feet and metres and pounds and kilograms.
