1351729 Valves GIRLING Ltd 3 Dec 1971 [18 Dec 1970 11 June 1971] 60218/70 and 57891/71 Divided out of 1351730 Headings F2V and F2F In a fluid-pressure reducing valve for brakes the deformable seat 20 is pressed by a spring 21 against a support 15 surrounding the closure member 14 and provided with a plurality of internal radial projections (23) in the form of axially extending splines or serrations which prevent extrusion of the seat into the annular space between the support and the closure member when the valve is closed. In a modification an edge of the closure member co-operates with a conical seat and the support has radial projections of substantial circumferential width between which are slots that increase in radial depth in a direction away from the seat.
