1351292 Oven doors; heat-cleaned cooking ovens SIEMENS-ELECTROGERATE GmbH 19 April 1971 [13 Feb 1970] 21751/71 Addition to 1206508 Heading F4W [Also in Divisions E2 and F2] An oven door, sliding on rails 11, is held tightly in the closed position during thermal cleaning by means of a fastening operated by an electric motor. In the form shown in Figs. 2 and 4, a pivoted hook 41 on the door is entrained by an eccentric pin 42 driven to the deadcentre position by a motor 5 at 50. The hook rides on its pivot 214 at a slot 412 which allows lost motion so that a spring 6 actually applies the closing force. In the form shown in Fig. 7, the bolt 43 is wedge-shaped and engages a spring 441 in a hole in the edge of the door. Rotation of the fastening to the holding position also rotates a cam 8 which throws a switch 91 to an alternative contact, Fig. 8, and also operates a switch (94) which prevents heating until the door is fastened. A switch 93, Fig. 8, is thermally responsive to oven temperature to energize winding 920 to operate contacts 92 between temperature limits to allow operation of the motor to continue rotation of the fastening to the releasing position when the temperature has fallen again. A ventilating aperture in the top of the oven is closed during heating by a valve 341, Fig. 10, which is also operated by the motor 5 through linkage 343, 344. The door has inner and outer windows, Fig. 12, the outer one being protected from excess heat by louvres 25 which are also operated through linkage 252, 253, 254 from the motor. The "open" position may be adjusted by a cam 256 adjusted by hand-wheel 255. The heatcleaning operation is controlled by a timer.
