Abstract

1351270 Apparatus for washing webs MACHINEF ABRIEK BRUGMAN NV 22 Dec 1972 [7 Jan 1972] 59570/72 Heading D1L A web of textile material is washed by passing it through a tub 1, in the form of loops, pressing the liquid 15, through the looped web by a presser bell 7, supported in a guide 8, and removing the washed web from the bath by guide rolls 9 or by passing it into another similar tub for further washing. The web is fed to the bath by feeder 2, and guides 4. Near the bottom 14 of the tub the web is formed into loops and moved through the tub by sliding rods 10, secured to a pair of suspension arms 11 which perform an oscillating movement between extreme positions about a shaft 12. The rods in combination with guide plates 5 and 6, deposit the web in loops on the bottom of the tub. The movement of the presser bell is synchronized with the sliding rod mechanism so that pressing takes place only when loops are not being formed. The preferred material is knitted.
