Abstract

1351227 Mooring ships SHELL INTERNATIONALE RESEARCH MAATSCHAPPIJ NV 8 July 1971 [10 July 1970] 32161/71 Heading B7S [Also in Division G1] A single point mooring system includes a buoy 1, a cable 3, a dynamometer 7 for measuring the tension in the cable and a wireless transmitter 8 for transmitting the measured tension to a receiver 10 on the ship or the shore whereby the ship may be disconnected from the mooring system if the tension exceeds a predetermined value. The transmitter 8 may be switched on remotely by a wireless signal, and may be switched off automatically after a given period by a time switch. If the single point mooring system includes more than one cable 3, each cable is provided with a dynamometer 7.
