Abstract

1350811 Valves I V PRESSURE CONTROLLERS Ltd 16 June 1972 [29 June 1971] 30497/71 Heading F2V Flow control device, which is designed to be incorporated in a fluid power supply line to prevent a pump quickly discharging all the stored fluid into the operating area in the event of a sudden rupture of the supply line, comprises a bore 2 having an inlet 2b, an outlet 6 and a piston valve member 7. Under normal operating conditions, the piston attains the position shown and flow occurs through a plurality of ports 4 and through a central bore 7. Upon an abnormal differential being created across the piston, the piston moves against spring 3 and piston portion 5 engages the outlet 6, whereby a restricted flow occurs through the bore 7 only.
