Abstract

1350694 Vibration damping A B DICK CO 7 May 1971 [8 May 1970] 13830/71 Heading F2S [Also in Division B6] A guide 12 for an ink jet printing head comprises an elongate bar supported at its ends and includes vibration damping means comprising a multiplicity of particles. The bar is formed with a chamber 36 within which is placed vibration damping particulate material which may comprise loose particles of specific gravity at least that of iron, or may comprise lead shot embedded in a rubber matrix 38 as shown. The material is held in the chamber by foil tape 42 adhered to the bar, masking tape 44 being provided to prevent the matrix from adhering to the foil tape 42.
