1350329 Odourizing liquified petroleum gas PENNWALT CORP 31 May 1972 [16 June 1971 27 March 1972] 25521/72 Heading C5E Liquified petroleum gas contains an odourant consisting of (1) ethyl mercaptan and/or dimethyl sulphide and (2) an organic material which forms a minimum boiling azeotrope with the ethyl mercaptan and/or dimethyl sulphide. In examples isopentane, amylene mixtures, npentane and methyl formate are used as azeotropic agents in liquified propane or propanebutane mixtures. The compositions suitably contain a deficiency of the ethyl mercaptan as compared with the other components of the azeotropes in question.
