Abstract

1350130 Portable sink units SINTACEL Ltd 28 May 1971 18202/71 Heading A4N A portable sink unit comprises a sink bowl 10 mounted in a surround having a flat base, a tap or taps 12 supported by a member attached to the surround, and a rigid conduit 11 extending upwardly from the taps 12 for connection to a water supply. A flexible supply conduit 13 may be connected to the upper end of the rigid conduit 11. A drain outlet in the bottom of the sink bowl 10 may be connected to a flexible drainage conduit (not shown). As show, the rigid conduit 11 projects perpendicularly to the base of the bowl surround, and the lower portion of the conduit 11 constitutes the supporting member for the taps 12. In an alternative embodiment, Fig. 2 (not shown) two sink bowls (10) are mounted side-by-side within a cabinet (15), the tap (12) being supported by one wall thereof, and having an articulated connection to enable it to discharge into either sink. Drain outlets in each sink (10) are connected to a common flexible drainage conduit. An electric water heater (16) may be communicatively connected to the rigid conduit 11. The sink bowls 10 may be of vacuumformed polyethylene or polypropylene, or of stainless steel or enamelled steel. The rigid conduit 11 may be of stainless steel. The flexible supply conduit 13 and drain conduits may be of braided plastics material.
