Abstract

1349595 Cabinets; rack stands XEROX CORP 19 April 1971 [24 Feb 1970] 22492/71 Headings A4B and A4H A unit for storing microfiche comprises a plurality of stacked trays 52, each tray comprising a square frame and the trays being stacked alternately at 90 degrees to one another, the upper surface of each tray including recesses 60 in one pair of opposite sides (56), Fig. 6, (not shown), outwardly extending ledges 62 and inwardly extending support surfaces (64) coplanar with the recesses 60, and inner boundary abutments (66), the lower surface of each tray including projections 68 on the other pair-of sides (58), Fig.7, (not shown) that fit into the recesses 60 of the tray below to define a slot 70 for insertion of a fiche, rails (72) which co-operate with surfaces 64 of the tray below and springs 74 to retain the fiche. The trays also include inter fitting male and female elements (76, 80, 78, 82) The stack of trays are mounted on a turntable 12 for rotation about a vertical axis. Fiche cleaning elements 44 are mounted on the upper tray 26 and a push plate 20 and are moved towards one another on depression of a push button 24 against a spring bias 22.
