Abstract

1349448 Electro-acoustic filters PLESSEY CO Ltd 24 June 1971 [1 July 1970] 32007/70 Heading H3U To vary the filter characteristic, a control voltage is applied between one or more pairs 4, of control electrodes of plate form, one on each side of a quartz or lithium niobate substrate 1 supporting acoustic surface waves between input transducer 2, and output transducer 3. A single ground electrode may constitute all the control electrodes on one side of the substrate 1. The conductive regions are laid down using photolithographic techniques. The control voltage gives rise to an electrostatic field transverse to the direction of the acoustic surface waves.
