Abstract

1348892 Vehicle wheels DUNLOP Ltd 19 April 1971 [21 March 1970] 33824/73 Divided out of 1348891 Heading B7C The subject matter of this Specification is disclosed in Specification 1,348,891 but the claims are directed to a tyre and wheel rim assembly in which the tyre is non-detachably mounted on the rim and the latter is provided in its base portion adjacent a bead seat with a circumferential recess, the opening of which at said base portion has a width in the axial direction of the rim which initially progressively reduces radially inwardly of the rim, the base portion between the bead seats being of sufficient diameter to prevent the radially inward displacement of a tyre bead necessary for dismounting the tyre from the rim, and the recess accommodating a means, extending radially outwardly of the base portion, for preventing displacement axially of the rim of the tyre bead on the seat adjacent the recess.
