Abstract

1348357 Anaerobic adhesives SPOLEK PRO CHEMICKOU A HUTNI VYROBU NARODNI PODNIK 17 April 1972 [10 Sept 1971] 17526/72 Heading C3P A method of bonding together parts by means of an acrylic anaerobic-curing composition includes the step of applying to a surface which is to receive the composition an activator which is a vanadium II or vanadium III salt of an organic acid, e.g. butyric, lauric, pelargonic, caprylic, 2,5,5-trimethylhexanoic, abietic or a naphthenic acid. The activator is suitably used in solution in an organic solvent or in an aerosol spray. In examples the anaerobic curing composition comprises (1) trimethylol propane trimethacrylate, cumene hydroperoxide and triethylamine, (2) the dimethacrylate ester of an epoxy resin, trimethylolethane trimethacrylate, diisopropylbenzene hydroperoxide and trin-butylamine and (3) the dimethacrylate ester of an epoxy resin, trimethylolpropane trimethacrylate, cumene hydroperoxide and dimethylformamide.
