Abstract

1348265 Valves CHAFFOTEAUX ET MAURY 14 May 1971 [15 May 1970] 15051/71 Heading F2V A combined spout and outlet valve for mounting on the base of a water heater over a sink, comprises a hollow pivot 3 containing a valve 16, and a bent tubular arm constituting the spout and rotatably mounted on the pivot and adapted to operate the valve. As shown, a lift valve 16 has a stem 25 connected to a cam follower 24 guided by a pin 26 engaged in a vertical slot 27 in the pivot. A cam 27 is angularly adjustably fixed in the bottom of a sleeve portion 2 of the spout which is rotatably mounted on the pivot. A stop pin 30 on the cam co-operates with abutments on the pivot to limit rotation to 180 degrees. The valve may have closed positions near the extremes of this movement, or if for fitting over twin sinks, the valve has a closed position corresponding to the middle range of the movement and being opened progressively by movement to opposite sides. The cam and follower may be of plastics material.
