1348139 Detergents containing overglaze attack inhibitors COLGATE-PALMOLIVE CO 19 May 1971 [28 May 1970] 15804/71 Heading C5D A water-soluble detergent composition contains aluminium chlorhydroxide, or aluminium chlorhydroxide and aluminium silicate, as an overglaze attack inhibitor in quantities of at least 0À5% and up to 3% by wt. of the composition. The composition contains 50 to 95% by wt. of at least one builder salt, which may be (A) inorganic, e.g. alkali metal phosphates, silicates, carbonates or sulphates or (B) organic, e.g. salts of aminopolycarboxylic acids, e.g. nitrilotriacetic acid and ethylene diamine triacetic acid. Also 0À5 to 5% of a chlorine- (or bromine-) containing bleaching agent which may be inorganic, e.g. lithium hypochlorite and hypobromite or organic, e.g. N-chlorinated, N- brominated heterocyclic imides, e.g. N-monobromo - N,N - dichlorocyanuric acid, trichlorocyanuric acid and salts thereof. Optional ingredients are 0À5-5% wt. of an anionic, non-ionic, cationic or ampholytic detergent. For bottle washing an aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide of pH 12 containing the inhibitor may be used. Specification 1,348,140 is referred to.
