Abstract

1347686 Abrasive materials C L FECHER 27 April 1971 [15 May 1970] 23642/70 Heading C4V An abrasive block is obtained by mixing particulate pumice with a curable sodium silicate bonding agent, filling a mould with the mixture and treating the mould to cure and harden the bonding agent. Preferably the pumice is entirely in powder form, but a proportion of granular pumice may be included, normally not exceeding 20% of the total weight. Preferably the sodium silicate compositions have a ratio SiO 2 : Na 2 O of between 1 : 1 and 4 : 1 and sodium fluorosilicate may be included.
