Abstract

1347427 Transfers COMMERCIAL DECAL Inc 19 May 1972 [21 May 1971] 23738/72 Heading B6C A typical slide-off decalcomania suitable for firing on an object bearing a high melting point plastic such as polyamide or a polyacrylic coating comprises a temporary paper support 10, Fig. 1, a water soluble layer 8, an opaque backing layer 6, a design layer 4 and a lacquer layer 2 containing an epoxy resin and a minor but cross-linking proportion for melamine resin. A heat release decalcomania for the same purpose comprises a paper support 20, Fig. 2, a low melting point release material 18, a lacquer layer 16 containing the epoxymelamine mixture, a design layer 14 and an opaque layer 12. The opaque layer may contain titanium dioxide, whilst the epoxy resin may be a linear polyhydroxy epoxy polymer. The cross-linking resin may be either alkylated melamine-formaldehyde resin or methoxy methyl melamine resin.
