Abstract

1521041 Decalcomania BEN CAPPER Ltd 5 Nov 1975 [6 Aug 1974] 34591/74 Heading B6C A decal comprises a support A, a design layer C and a lacquer film D incorporating a release agent enabling the lacquer film D to be peeled away from the design layer C after the design layer and the lacquer film have been removed from the substrate and applied to an article. The release agent may be a silicone or a polypropylene or polyethylene wax, and the lacquer film preferably comprises polymethacrylate. A water-release decal has a watersoluble gun layer B between A and C, and a heatrelease decal has a heat-softenable layer B. A further polymeric layer, e.g. of modified ureaformaldehyde may also be provided between design layer C and lacquer film D.
