Abstract
1347042 Board game R W HILLS 5 May 1972 [11 May 1971] 14332/71 Heading A6H A board game for two players includes a squared board 1, two sets of playing pieces and at least one playing member 9 capable of enclosing one or more playing pieces and movable over the board I during play. The board 1 may be recessed and the playing pieces may be provided with co-operating projections for the recesses. A "fortress" 7, 8 is marked upon the board 1 for each set of playing pieces and, preferably, each player is initially provided with three square playing members 9, each containing nine playing pieces. A further seventeen playing pieces for each player are provided within the "fortresses" 7, 8, as well as "standards" S. The object of the game is to capture the "standard" S of the opposing player. The playing pieces and members 9 are moved according to the rules set forth in the Specification which specify that playing pieces have greater freedom of movement, and are protected within, their "fortresses" or playing members 9. At each end of the board is provided a "prisoner-of-war camp" 3, 4 for holding playing pieces captured during play.
