Abstract

1346194 Cassette recorder SUD-ATLASWERKE GmbH 19 April 1971 [30 Nov 1970] 26864/71 Heading G5R In a tape recording and playback machine 1 for magnetic tape 3 in a cartridge 2 which is received in a recess 4 in the machine, a magnetic head 5 on slide 6 is advanced to engage the tape and during this movement an abutment 8 on the head (or on the slide, Fig. 4, not shown) engages an inner surface of the cartridge casing to latch the cartridge against the action of spring 7 and to align the tape with the head 5. The spring 7 can be replaced by a spring loaded floor to the recess supported on a helical spring or solid elastomeric material.
