1346105 Alkoxyacetic acid esters OLIN CORP 6 Sept 1971 [18 Jan 1971] 41493/71 Heading C2C [Also in Division C5] Alkoxyacetic acid esters with glycols or glycol ethers of formulµ and where R 1 and R 2 are independently alkyl (1-4 C) groups, R 3 is alkylene (up to 4 C), x is integer 1-6, y is integer 1-4, and z an integer of 1-8 are used in hydraulic fluid compositions. The esters may be prepared by conconventional methods and examples are ethylene glycol dimethoxyacetate and diethoxyacetate; diethylene glycol dimethoxyacetate; 1,2- propanediol dimethoxyacetate; 1,3-propanediol dimethoxyacetate; 2,2 - dimethyl - 1,3 - propanediol dimethoxyacetate; 1,3-butandiol dimethoxyacetate; 2,3 - butanediol dimethoxyacetate; 1,4-butanediol diethoxyacetate; 1,5- pentanediol dimethoxyacetate; triethylene glycol monomethyl ether methoxyacetate; tetraethylene glycol monomethyl ether methoxyacetate and tetraethylene glycol monoethyl ether methoxyacetate.
