Abstract

1345797 Electric motor bearings SIEMENS AG 19 April 1971 [9 April 1970] 26696/71 Heading H2A [Also in Division F2] In an electric motor, e.g. a F.H.P. motor of a sound reproducing apparatus, a shaft thrust bearing comprises a threaded adjustment member 11 having a recess 10 in which are received a bearing plate 13 and a resilient member engaging the plate and providing a resilient biasing to the motor shaft 5, and which member 11 is adjustably mounted in a motor housing 7 to adjust the position of the bearing plate 13 along the axis of the shaft 5. The member 11 may be an externally threaded screw and have a side wall which is bent over to form a radial bearing for the shaft. The resilient member may be a resilient body 9 bonded to the plate and where aperture 12 receives a plate spigot 14.
