[Also in Division H1] In an electrostatic torquer, a steady force which is substantially independent of fluctuations in energizing voltage is obtained by using two electrostatic force-producing units in opposition at either end of a lever, the first having a linear characteristic and consisting of an electret and a charged plate, and the second having a square-law characteristic because it employs two charged plates.
