1345738 Polypropylene moulding compositions BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK AG 7 July 1971 [8 July 1970] 31859/71 Heading C3P Polypropylene moulding compositions comprise (1) 5 to 80 weight per cent of lamellar talc particles of thickness 0À01 to 1 micron and mean maximum diameter 2 to 5 microns and (2) a polypropylene mixture comprising (a) 70 to 80 weight per cent of a polypropylene which is less than 1% soluble in boiling toluene at a polypropylene: toluene weight ratio of 5 : 95, and (b) 20 to 30 weight per cent of a polypropylene which is more than 99% soluble in boiling toluene as above, the polypropylenes having the same molecular weight distributions as determined by gel permeation chromatography and having the same intrinsic viscosities which are in the range 1 to 10 measured in decahydronaphthalene at 130‹ C. The polypropylenes may comprise (a) the insoluble portion of a relatively low average molecular weight product and (b) the soluble portion of a relatively high average molecular weight product.
