Bracings; crowns.-The bracings of the crown or arch, and of the body part of a furnace, are independent of one another. The body part of the furnace shown is supported in a rigid bracing, to which one of the abutments d<1> of the arch a is secured. The opposite abutment d<2> is carried by uprights b connected to the body bracing by adjustable tie-rods c. In another form, both bracings are adjustable, and the arch bracing may be in sections, which can be adjusted independently of one another.
