1345505 Lens systems J H DALLMEYER Ltd and R P HARVEY 19 July 1972 33872/72 Heading G2J An optical lens is constructed of three single components made of germanium of optical quality and comprising front and back convergent meniscus components a, c, concave towards the back of the lens, and an intermediate divergent component b between a and c, preferably concave towards the front, as shown. The following relationships obtain:- d 2 < 0À3 times the equivalent focal length of the lens, (f); d 1 + d 2 + d 3 + d 4 + d 5 > f; d 3 < both d 1 and d 5 . Optical data are given.
