Abstract

1345212 Nursing device FUJIMOTO CO Ltd 7 Sept 1971 [8 Sept 1970] 41693/71 Heading A5X A nursing device comprises a bottle 4, a retaining ring 3, a flexible main nipple body 1 having an annular goove formed by a flange 5 and a projection 5' with tubular extensions 7 projecting from the flange and communicating with the groove and a rigid air control ring 8 having a number of protrusions 9 having channels 10, the number of protrusions 9 corresponding to the number of extensions 7. The air control ring 8 fits inside the groove of the main nipple body 1 with the protusions 8 enclosed by the tubular extensions E, with each extension 7 and the corresponding channel 10 forming a venting passage. The end of each tubular extension 7 has an inwardly extending flange (11) Fig. 4 (not shown) which covers the end of the channel, but which will allow entry of air on decrease of air pressure in the bottle during feeding. Alternatively, the tubular members may be closed at their ends, Fig. 5 (not shown) and have a transverse cut line (b) communicating with the groove 10.
