Abstract

1344968 Vibration isolators WIRTH GALLO & CO 23 Aug 1972 [23 March 1972] 39210/72 Heading F2S [Also in Division G1] A device for fastening a vibrating string to the frame 8 of a measuring instrument, e.g. a weighing balance or a dynomometer comprises a fastening lead 3 connected to the frame by a flexurally and torsionally elastic connecting member in the form of a rod 4 which is disposed at least partly outside the straight line G connecting the point of attachment 5 of the rod to the frame with the centre of gravity S of the fastening lead. It is stated that the device reduces the transfer of energy from the vibrating string to the frame and prevents vibrations at the string frequency and existing in the frame from interfering with the vibrations of the string. In an alternative embodiment, Fig. 3, the connecting member is a V-shaped rod 10 connected directly to the frame 8. In Fig. 6 (not shown) there are two such rods. In Fig. 4 (not shown) the connecting member is a U- shaped flat rod produced by stamping. In Fig. 5 (not shown) the connecting member is a cylindrical shell with two transverse grooves cut out. In Fig. 7 (not shown) the transverse grooves are replaced by helical slots.
