Abstract

1344317 Prefabricated room units; structural joints J COLZANI P FORT R FORT and F CASTAINGS 1 Oct 1971 45907/71 Heading A4H [Also in Division E1] A building is erected from prefabricated room units 1, Fig. 1, which may have a cut out portion for a window, see Fig. 2 (not shown); the units being assembled together as shown in Fig. 5 to form a walled structure surmounted by roof units 12 of like configuration to the room units. The units, Fig. 5, are mounted on a skeleton framework which may be supported on joints, the building being provided with windows 13, 14, 15 as shown or otherwise modified in outline and provided with partitions as desired, for details of which modifications to the Specification and remaining figures, (not shown), should be referred to. The units may be moulded asbestos cement and lined with plywood with a layer of heat insulating material therebetween. Co-planar panels, 24, 25, Fig. 8 are inter-connected by a bolt 29 screw-threaded into the web of a connector 28, a neoprene seal 26 and a cover plate 32 being provided. A modified joint between panels disposed normal to one another is depicted in Fig. 7 (not shown).
