Abstract

1344192 Programmed control of surface treatment KAISER ALUMINIUM & CHEMICAL CORP 19 April 1971 [28 Jan 1970] 20323/71 Heading G3N [Also in Division C7] The voltage in an anodizing process is controlled by recording a predetermined voltagetime relationship e.g. by scribing on a conductively coated plastics card 4, and then moving it relative to a probe 3 which picks up from an electrostatic field an error signal. A servo-system responds to the signal to correct the probes deviation by rotating the shaft of an output potentiometer 6. The output signal from the potentiometer is used as a reference for controlling the anodizing voltage in a circuit employing a comparator (1) Fig.3 (not shown).
