Abstract

1343589 Ovens for heat shrink packaging BONNIERFORETAGEN AB 23 June 1972 [12 July 1971 9 Feb 1972] 29684/72 Heading F4B [Also in Division B8] Apparatus for heat-shrinking a wrapper positioned around a plurality of goods-for example packages or magazines-comprises electric radiation elements 11 mounted on a support 5 in front of substantially flat reflectors 12, the energy peak of the elements being at a wavelength of substantially 1À2 microns and the major portion of the radiation lying within the wavelength range of 0À4 to 4À0 microns. The support 5 comprises a tunnel having ventilated sides arid roof and an open bottom along which a conveyer consisting of steel bands 3 or a steel foraminous belt runs. The elements may be heated continuously or only when wrapped goods pass through the tunnel. The elements may be unevenly distributed on the sides of the tunnel and evenly distributed on the top.
