Abstract

1343339 Making collimators NUCLEAR CHICAGO CORP 6 July 1971 [7 July 1970] 31657/71 Heading B3A [Also in Divisions H5 and G1] A radiation collimator of lead foil is constructed from straight strips and corrugated strips of the foil, by placing them alternately in the work-holder 30, Fig. 3, the straight strips being coated on each side with a resin adhesive. Thereafter, an aluminium plate 11 is bonded to each end of the resulting honeycomb structure, from which a circular portion 10, Fig. 5, is sawn for use as a collimator in a gamma-ray camera (see Division H5).
