Abstract
1343005 Error prevention DR JOHANNES HEIDENHAIN 19 June 1972 [18 June 1971] 28632/72 Heading G4H In an incremental measuring system in which increment pulses are counted and transferred to a store, and, on request from the store to a readout device, the increment pulses control the transfer from store to readout and transfer from counter to store is inhibited during this period. As shown, light from source 12 passes through moving graduated scale 10 and the two sets of graduations 11, one being shifted relative to the other by about one quarter of the line separation, and is focused on to photo-cells 16, 17. The outputs are shaped at 20, 21 and fed as spikes J 1 or J 2 from direction discriminator 22 on to either the forward (F) or reverse (R) line of counter 23. The spikes are also fed to NAND gate 25 and monostable 26 and are gated in NOR gate 28 with request pulse J 5 . The output J 6 of the NOR gate is fed to monostable 29 and the output pulse J 7 causes transfer of the value in the store 27 to printer 24 and locks the store input against changes in the count during the transfer.
