Abstract
1342889 Vulcanizing rubber IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 19 April 1971 [23 April 1970] 19561/70 Heading C3E [Also in Divisions D1-D2] Rubber is vulcanized in contact with polyester material using as sulphur donor a thiophosphoryl polysulphide of formula wherein each R, which may be the same or different, is an alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or aralkyl group and n is 2, 3 or 4. In examples, bis-(diethylthiophosphoryl) trisulphide or bis- (diisopropylthiophosphoryl) disulphide is used as vulcanizing agent alone or together with a conventional accelerator and, in some cases, sulphur. Polyethylene terephthalate cords are embedded in the rubber mix, which is then vulcanized.
