Abstract

1342870 Reducing electrostatic charge on polymethylmethacrylate plates HESA AG 1 June 1972 [10 June 1971] 25620/72 Heading C3P [Also in Division B8] The electrostatic charging tendency of plates of polymethylmethacrylate is reduced or inhibited by placing a polyolefin foil carrying on its surface or containing at least one anti-static substance, in contact with the plate. The polyolefin is preferably polyethylene. The plate may be packed in the polyolefin or sheets of the polyolefin foil may be placed between stacked plates of the polymethylmethacrylate. The treatment is especially useful for storage purposes. Commercially available antistatic polyethylene foils are specified.
