Controllers w i t h overload release; with no-volt release. - The armatures of the overload and no-volt releases of a controller are oparated by a magnetic field shunting the blow-out field. The blow-out magnet has a coil a, core b, and polepiece c, and its field passes across the gap containing the contacts to the casing. This path is shunted by a path through a projection e, which may be the hinge bolt of the pole-piece, and a pivoted armature f which breaks the contact at k when attracted. The position of the armature f may be adjusted by nuts p and the adjustment read on a scale m. The relay contacts k can be released by operating the arm o by means of an outside key. Where the coil a is a series coil, the contacts k are in circuit with the no-volt coil: but where the coil a. is a. shunt coil, the contacts k are in the main circuit.
