Dung-catchers. - Means for preventing the excrement of horses or other animals from reaching the ground comprises, in one form shown in Fig. 1, an apron d of waterproof material shaped to fit the buttocks of the animal, a shoot f, and a receptacle g suspended underneath the vehicle h. Another form adapted to slow-moving animals attached to drays is shown in Fig. 6, in which a shoot f<1> connects the apron a with a receptacle g<1>. A curved piece a', Fig. 9, is inserted where shown, to give the shoot a slight curve. The shoot is passed over rollers k, k<1> and attached to a spring k<2>. A lip j<2> serving to carry one side of the receptacle keeps the shoot clear of the receptacle and avoids the possibility of rain-water passing down into the receptacle.
