Abstract
1340130 Dialkylphosphorochloridothionates STAUFFER CHEMICAL CO 19 April 1971 [18 March 1970 19 Jan 1971] 24501/71 Heading C2P Dialkyl phosphorochloridothionates are produced continuously by (a) chlorinating a dialkyl phosphorodithioic acid with a chlorinating agent in a two-stage chlorination zone and (b) separating and recovering the product from the solution obtained. The chlorinating agent is preferably chlorine, preferably used in a mole ratio of chlorine to dialkyl phosphorodithioic acid of between 0À95 : 1À0 and 1À5 : 1À0. Step (b) may be carried out by passing the solution into a film evaporation zone at 90-120‹ C. and then condensing the vaporous fraction and recovering a portion thereof as product. Preferably the major portion, most preferably at least 80%, of the chlorine is admitted to the first chlorination stage.
