Abstract

1339758 Mounting cylinders MOLE RICHARDSON (ENGLAND) Ltd 8 Dec 1971 [8 Dec 1970] 58332/70 Heading F2T The gland 4 in an hydraulic piston and cylinder device is sealingly received in the end of a cylinder 1, is provided with a seal 6 through which a flexible or rigid piston-rod 2 may run and is provided with mounting means, such as trunnion pins 18, for supporting the cylinder for rotation about an axis 19 normal to and intersecting the axis of the portion of the piston rod passing through the seal. As shown, the pistonrod 2 is in the form of a cable or rope covered with a plastics material. The gland 4 is provided with 0-rings, one each side of annular and radial passages 13, 14 adjacent an hydraulic liquid connection on the cylinder 1 and is slidable in the end of the cylinder. Normally such devices are double acting and a similar mounting arrangement provided at the opposite end.
