1339753 Universal joints GKN TRANSMISSIONS Ltd 8 Dec 1970 40469/73 Divided out of 1339752 Heading F2U The disclosure is the same as that of Specification 1,339,751, but the claims are directed to a universal joint comprising torque transmitting balls 12 in axial grooves 14, 15 in an inner and an outer member 10, 11, joined by an annular seal 28 of U-section with its line of symmetry parallel to the rotation, and so clamped around the inner member 10 to be biased away therefrom. The cylindrical portion 29 of the seal on the inner member may have an initially cylindrical bore forced by a clamp into a circumferential groove.
