Abstract

1338980 Measuring angular speed electrically HEBERLEIN & CO A G 1 Sept 1972 [18 Oct 1971] 40694/72 Heading G1N [Also in Division H3] The angular speed of a rotating body is measured by producing a nominally sinusoidal A.C. signal whose frequency is proportional to the angular speed and is converted to a rectangular pulse train of the same frequency, using non-zero values to trigger the side of the pulses. As shown Fig.2, the A.C. signal 1 triggers a first circuit 11 at a pre-set positive value 5, and is inverted at 12 to trigger a second circuit 13 at a pre-set negative value 5a. The resulting outputs from circuits 11, 13 control a bi-stable flip-flop 14 to produce rectangular pulses 6 which are counted at 18.
