Abstract

1338244 Degaussing cathode-ray tube apparatus LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGSGmbH 25 Nov 1970 [26 Nov 1969] 56003/70 Heading H4T A demagnetizing coil for a colour television picture tube is formed from a plurality of turns of thermoplastic coated wire which, after shaping and setting by heat treatment is positioned and supported on the tube. In practice two identical coils 3, 4 (Fig. 2) are produced and in one embodiment (Fig. 1) supported on the tube by hooks 6 and projections 7 or notches 8 the inner positions being joined by springs 9. In a second embodiment (Fig. 3) the coils 3, 4 are supported by plastic hooks 12 fastened in openings 11 in the anti-implosion band 10. An asymmetrical arrangement may be employed to create a field free zone in the vicinity of the EHT connection. Terminals are provided for the supply of a suitable demagnetizing A.C. potential.
